Our Philosophy
At Crown Hill Farmette, I strive to live mindfully, in harmony with nature, and as organically as possible — caring for both the world around me and my own well-being.
Each day, I grow, craft, nurture or harvest alongside my furry and feathered companions. Whether tending the garden, caring for the bees, or creating things by hand and making our own natural sundries, I do it all with love for the process, for living as healthy as possible, and to maintain a deep connection to nature. It is this connection that saved me when complex health problems upended my entire life over 15 years ago.
When I lost what defined me most to illness, my calling as a veterinarian, along with beloved hobbies and most of my social life, I found peace just sitting in the sun under a blanket, listening to birds and bees humming one day. And now I spend as much time as I can outside, caring for the garden and the animals that give me so much.
Our herbs, roses, vegetables and fruit are grown without chemicals or pesticides. Medicinal herbs are either cultivated here or responsibly foraged from the Pacific Northwest. Oils for salves and soaps are chosen for their purity and slowly infused over months with herbs and flowers. Only organic essential oils scent my candles, allowing them to burn clean and naturally.
Being an artisan isn’t just about making things — it’s about slowing down, connecting with the world, and sharing its beauty in every handcrafted piece. Every creation reflects care, intention, and a love for the craft, with my animals — from cats and dogs to chickens and bees — inspiring and grounding me along the way.
Everything I make at Crown Hill Farmette reflects a simple philosophy: to live gently, create thoughtfully, and share the natural beauty that surrounds me.
